At Unmute, we invest in mentoring women to soar beyond the norm and societal templates to find their true selves.
Unmute is designed to grow the consciousness of self-respect, self-reliance, independence and personal leadership in women. We aim to propagate women who think of their opinions as valid and their dreams worthwhile. Unmute is about becoming and rising from the ashes like a phoenix.
Being a woman is not a barrier.
Longer than we can remember, the role of women in society has only been defined along gender lines. This system disempowers women who believe they can do more than their assigned duties. It denies them the freedom of choice and has taught most women to identify with womanhood as a barrier.
Unmute aims to liberate women from these beliefs that entrench them within the walls of underachievement. We hope to raise women to raise their voices against the system that suppresses them.
Unmute was founded in 2020 by Priyanka.
Unmute has helped develop over 100 conscious leaders and our goal is to help over 1,500 by the end of 2025.
Unmute is a team of three but a network of hundreds.

Priyanka Mehandiratta was born and raised in India. Being the first child in the family meant she had her life planned before she was conceived. She must walk the template set before her as a faultless example for her siblings and dozens of cousins to model their lives. Of course, it didn't matter if she desired a version of life different from the one society gave her. It would be a sacrilege for her to go against the rules.
Years later, when she moved to Canada, her conditioned values and a culture of silence hindered her career growth. She knew that she had to unlearn the myths that hold her down and learn and relearn counter principles and values to find her voice. She struggled with this challenge for a long time until she decided to do something about it. This simple plan transformed her life and laid the trajectory for her career success.
Her vision for Unmute came not from an outside inspiration but from a personal experience with life as a woman. Before founding Unmute, Priyanka became an MBA Graduate, a Certified Training and Facilitation Professional, and a Certified Executive Coach with strong expertise in developing leaders at all levels to be more human. She is also an Activator with Sheeo, a global funding platform supporting women entrepreneurs that solves world problems.
Springing from years of solid experience, Priyanka founded Unmute to untangle more women from the shacks of gender-designated roles. Priyanka shares the urgent need for women to find their voice, especially with recent reports showing that one in four women are considering leaving the workforce as an impact of Covid-19. The only way to fight against the suppressive system is to build a counter system. Priyanka believes Unmute is a way for women to get ahead and experience personal success.
